Dyslexia is not an insurmountable obstacle. With the right kind of instruction, delivered at sufficient intensity, dyslexic readers can make substantial progress. The key word is “right kind”: not all reading instruction is equally effective for dyslexic individuals, and approaches that work well for typical learners may provide little benefit for those with phonological processing deficits.
